START TO TAKE ACTION – PART 2
It’s possible to change the way you feel about things by changing the words and pictures you make in your head , or by using your vivid imagination!
Try doing the following guided visualization exercise and notice how your mood and feelings change as you move through each step.
LOOKING BACK TO THE FUTURE
- Think about yourself as you are now, living your life as it is now. Ask yourself:
- Now imagine that you are looking into the future, many years from now, on a life path where you chose not to change. You held on to the belief that perhaps the next diet will set you free, and continued in the cycle of losing and gaining weight, finally giving up hope and trying to convince yourself that you no longer care. Ask yourself:
- What else have I missed out on over the years?
- How do I feel about myself?
- How have my friends and family been affected?
- How do I feel about life and the future?
- What would I say to convince the younger me to take action and take this different approach?
- Now imagine that you decided to follow the advice and help given on this programme and engaged in changing your attitude and your life. You have reached your ideal weight, size and shape and you’re now ‘ living the transformation’. Ask yourself:
- How do I feel about myself?
- What else have I achieved through my new attitudes?
- How does it feel to be able to wear the clothes that I love?
- What do I want to say to myself in appreciation of my tenacity and self respect?
- What opportunities have I benefited from?
- What needed to change in my life to enable me to achieve and maintain my ideal weight?
So how did you feel as you moved through each step? Did you feel empowered by the sense of possibility of success in step 3?
Remember….anything is possible, if you choose to make it so.
